Neil de Crescenzo to Keynote at Distributed: Health 2017 Conference

Change Healthcare CEO Neil de Crescenzo will be the opening keynote speaker at the Distributed: Health 2017 conference in Nashville on September 25, a blockchain conference tailored for the healthcare industry. It’s the second year Distributed: Health will be held for healthcare leaders interested in learning how blockchain’s distributed ledger technology is impacting the industry. Change Healthcare is a co-host of the two-day event.

Following de Crescenzo’s opening remarks at 9:00 a.m., Change Healthcare CTO Aaron Symanski will speak at a session titled “The Future of Payment Models.” At the 10:30 presentation, Symanski will be joined by Francois de Brantes, VP & Director of the Altarum Center for Payment Innovation, and John Bass, CEO of Hashed Health, which is also a co-host of Distributed: Health 2017. The trio’s panel will look at how current payment systems are impeding the delivery of care, and will examine how blockchain technology promotes new, scalable, and sustainable platforms for patient-focused healthcare payments.

Other events at the conference include a 24-hour hackathon promoting the creation of innovative blockchain applications tackling industry problems; a new unit of Continuing Legal Education, with leading attorneys in the field exploring the landscape of disruptive technology; and a “code-camp”, designed to provide hands-on workshops for blockchain newcomers and veterans alike.

Distributed: Health 2017 will be held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tenn. Nashville is home to nine of the 10 largest hospital corporations in the U.S., with more than 250 other healthcare companies based in the region.
